Chapter 6:Genes and DNA
Chapter 6 Summary:
In chapter 6 it discussed about DNA , in DNA there are four bases of nucleotides adenine, thymine, guanine, and cytosine.Cytosine connects with guanine and adenine connects with thymine. Many people helped discover DNA. Erwin Chargaff found that the amount of adenine in DNA always equals the amount of thymine; this is called Chargaff's rules. Franklin also discovered clues about the structure of DNA; this is commonly called Franklin's Discovery. Lastly Watson and Crick's model. There model helped figure out the structure of DNA the most, but these three people all contributed. Watson and Crick's created there model after seeing Franklin's X-ray images. They concluded that DNA was a long twisted ladder.Chapter 6 also talked about unraveling DNA, genes and proteins, proteins and traits, help from RNA, the making of a protein, changes in genes, mutations, examples, genetic engineering, and lastly genetic identification.
